Biography of BA Yan


Ms. BA Yan, born in Beijing, Council Member of Natural Way Foundation, Founder of China Animal and Nature Film Festival, Member of China United Organization of Calligraphy and Artist. She started to study art from 5-years-old with her father Mr. BA Shan. Ms. BA graduated from the Art & Design Institute of Tsinghua University and University of International Business and Economics. 1999-2003, she studied in Paris No.1 University, France for her Art Master Degree. During her study in France, she has taught many French painter Chinese painting, which was highly praised.

She loves nature and animals, and her Chinese ink and wash painting is majorly flower-bird, especially good at lotus. Tibet mural painting, Ming-Qing Dynasty blue-green watercolor painting and western coloring influences make her paintings so unique. “Collections of Ba Shan and Ba Yan’s Work I & II” was published.

Ms. BA Yan's works has participated and been awarded in many exhibitions including UN News Department Exhibition, China Japan Friendship Associations Exhibition. 1989-1998, her exhibitions were held in many domestic and foreign countries such as Hong Kong, St. Louis (USA), Seoul (Korea), Monte Carlo (Monaco), Marseilles and Lyons (France). In 1996, she was invited to paint for Prince of Monaco and Chinese Embassy. In 1999, her art was collected by the Japanese Emperor and Empress. During 2002 and 2004, she and her father BA Shan's works were collected by Russian President Mr. Putin; President of USA George W. Bush; Monarch of Monaco Rainier III; Chairman of Cuba Mr. Fidel Castro; Singapore Premier Mr. Goh Chok Tong; Japanese Emperor Akihito; and Crown Prince of Japan; North Korean President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Thailand Premier Kukrit Pramoj; Director of South Korea Parliament; and many celebrities of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

During her art careers, many media have covered her talent, including People's Daily, Xinhua News, QS Theory Magazine, Beijing Daily, Beijing TV, CCTV, Guangdong TV, and media from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, France, Monaco, Russia and etc.
